Yesterday I successfully used my first tampon. Throughout the day I changed it once, using two tampons in total, and switched to a pad at night. Now it feels extremely itchy and irritable up in my vagina, I assume near my cervix where the tampon has been. Is that normal? And if it is, how do I get rid of the itch? I’ve also just contracted urinary tract infection about two days ago, but the pain is gone now after taking antibiotics, if that plays a part in anything. Please help! It’s really uncomfortable. Thanks!

About 5 weeks ago I got the depo birth control shot, they had me take an at home pregnancy test before they could give me the shot and it came back negative. About a week later I got sick. I’ve had stomach problems in the past consisting of sharp pains in different spots in my abdomen, so every time I went into the doctor they assumed it was my pains getting worse. So for the past month they had me on several medications and gave me different shots to kill the pain whenever I would go into the ER. They found that I had a bacterial yest infection and a bladder infection. Last week i went in again and they finally did a pregnancy test. Come to find out Im now somewhere around 6 weeks pregnant. For the past few days Ive had such bad pain, where my female organs are located, that i cant get myself out of bed. I talked to my mom about it and she thinks that the fetus is not well. . .. . Ive also noticed some thicker stringy tissue like substance in the toilet or when I wipe. Is it possible that Im having a miscarriage and Im just not gonna bleed because of the depo shot or the bleeding just hasnt started yet? or is there something more wrong?

My 4 year old daughter came down with a fever of 105.0 all of a sudden with no other symptoms. Within a half hour she complained that her stomach hurt and she started vomiting. It was in the middle of the night, so I had to wait a few hours until the doctors was open. I gave her a cool bath immediately, and had her drink cold water and eat ice chips, and also gave her children’s tylenol. Which brought her fever down to 100.5 . When I took her to the doctor in the morning, He did not even take her temperature, did not even look at her for more than 30 seconds before diagnosing that it was a urinary tract infection. He put her on a medicine for it, when I got home and read the rest of the medicine info, after he already gave her a first dose, The side effects were nausea, vomiting, fever, and others. He gave me a medicine thats side effects were all the symptoms my daughter had. Both of my daughters will get random high fevers, for what seems like no reason. I also used to get these random high fevers as a child. I am taking my daughter to the emergency room because I think there is something more going on than the doctors care to take the time to see. My question is this, What kinds of tests or things should I request to have done when I take her in? Any ideas would be a great help, Thanks.

For maybe a month or two now I’ve had this constant pain in my bladder and stomach. Back in September I overdosed on a number of medications. Now, I have a urinary tract that hasn’t gone away in a long time now. (Before the overdose, I had maybe two urinary tract infections that went away after about two days). When I go to the restroom, sometimes when I wipe, a small bit of blood appears on the toilet paper. My urine has been especially dark and I’m not sure what’s going on. I have read up on urinary tract infections which leads me to wonder if my kidneys are failing, I am taking antibiotics but they don’t seem to be helping. On top of that I have been drinking cranberry juice when I can. I’ve always barely gone to the restroom and I may go to the restroom a maximum of twice a day.

What do you think?

I’m so desperate, I’m asking an internet forum.
I have been sick for six months. This illness continues to get more painful and more debilitating. I have seen multiple doctors, to no avail. Is there ANYONE out there with advice? My doctors are seeming to get sick of me. My life is non-existent. I can’t leave my house. I can’t function. I am constantly in pain, all over my body.

I am a 20 year old female. I have had digestive symptoms for months.
I have frequent bowel movements (7+ times per day), most of which are diarrhea or extremely loose. Anti-diarrheal medications do not work; the only thing that "works" to solidify my stool is Vicodin, but this constipates me, which doesn’t help either.
My stool contains a great deal of undigested food - vegetables (lettuce, tomato, etc), meat, grain (rice cereal, etc.).
I have severe abdominal distension.
I have sharp pains throughout my abdomen constantly.
My stool is usually extremely fatty, foamy, and foul-smelling.
Nearly every bowel movement is painful.
I am nauseous daily. I never know if I will be able to keep down food. Accompanying food with milk seems to ease the nausea.
My weight fluctuates extremely. My typical weight is 140 (I am 5′11") and it drops down to 125 and back up within a week or two.
This is accompanied by many other symptoms - joint pain, extreme fatigue, chest pain, heart palpitations, inability to control body temperature (alternating quickly between sweating and shaking with cold chills), muscle weakness, hand tremors, hypoglycemia, low blood pressure, blurred/distorted vision, memory loss, confusion, frequent urination, near-daily low-grade fevers, constant headache.

I have seen an internist, a gastroenterologist, and a gynecologist.
In May, I went in for surgery to remove a ruptured ovarian cyst, at which point they also noticed appendicitis and removed my appendix. The biopsy of my appendix returned somewhat normal, except they had found multiple stones and stool within the appendix, but said it seemed normal.

During a follow-up gynecologic exam, my doctor did an ultrasound due to my abdominal distension, and saw that my large intestine was in between my uterus and my bladder.

I have since had a colonoscopy, an endoscopy, a great deal of bloodwork (vitamin levels, ANA, CSR, RA,H.pylori, liver and kidney panels, CBC) an EKG, and a stool study to test for bacteria and parasites.

All of these tests have come back clean/negative.

What do I do next? My doctors are literally guessing. I’m currently taking meclizine, in the off chance that I may have an inner ear infection that they can’t see? The medicine is not helping.
They have not given me any more medicine.
I am completely lost, and constantly miserable. Any advice would be appreciated.

My cat is a neutered, male, 2 year old Siamese cat. In the past year he started to produce crystals in his bladder. He was catheterized 3 times so far. He is on a prescription diet, Science Diet c/d to keep the crystals from forming. He also suffered from urethral strictures from being catheterized and was on medication to relax his urethra. My Veterinarian suggests to surgically fix this problem. I forget what the surgery is called but his penis will be surgically removed to make the hole bigger in order for crystals to pass without blocking him. I researched this surgery and found that the crystals will continue to form but he will be able to pass them. The surgery is pretty serious and he may continue to get infections for the rest of his life. He may also continue to strain in the litter box and may urinate throughout the house, which he already does because he is in so much discomfort. If there a crystal doesn’t break down and it continues to grow, it will need to be surgically removed which is another surgery to pay for and he will need to recover from. I don’t want him to suffer and I’m not sure if the surgery is the best thing for him. My family members who suffered from stones said that the surgery isn’t worth it if the cat will continue to form crystals that he must pass because the journey of the crystal from the bladder to the exit is still painful. This problem is very common in male cats. I want to know if anyone else out there has gone through the same thing and if they went through with the surgery. If so, was it worth it? My Veterinarian’s estimate was a little over ,000.

PLEASE HELP!!!
I have already seen a different vet and both vets gave me the same opinion. This has been going on for a year now. He is very uncomfortable and painful. I love my pet very much and have already spent a few thousand dollars on this issue alone. He was hospitalized for this at one point. I don’t want to be greedy and keep him alive if that means he will be in pain. I need better advice from someone who has experienced this specific situation. Not an old dog’s broken leg. This is a life threatening medical condition not an accident that can be easily mended.
I already tried the rotation of c/d and s/d exactly how you mentioned. He has struvite crystals I believe. I understand everything about this issue and he has been going through this for a year now! That is why I am so concerned. He was catheterized 2 days ago and already straining in the litter box again! I will most likely be making an appointment to put him down on Tuesday. I don’t want to see him in pain anymore. I don’t get visitors in my home and he is strictly indoors so he doesn’t get treats or anything else besides his prescription diet. I at one point thought the tap water was the issue so I even bought a filter for him, he only drinks filtered water.
I spoke to the Vet and he said that my cat’s urethra is abnormally small and even with the surgery he may develop scar tissue which can block up the hole again and the surgery would be in vein. So we both decided it’s best to put him down.

I was wondering if anyone here has been diagnosed
with interstitial cystitis. I’m 19 years old, and have been having what was
diagnosed as recurrent urinary tract infections (I’d get at least one a month
for the past 1 1/2 years). They’d give me an antibiotic, but then when the
urine culture would come back, they’d say there’s no bacteria- so I was paying
for antibiotics for nothing. I get pain in my pelvis (in the center, right
above pubic bone), and in my urethra (sorry if this is TMI) lately when I have a
flare up, it’s too painful to have sex. I have to rush to the bathroom as soon
as I get the urge to go, or I risk wetting my pants (I did once at our
apartment, and cried my eyes out outta sheer embarassment). I finally went to
the urologist yesterday, he’s supposed to be the best in the DC area. He told
me I have overactive bladder. Why the hell would a 19 year old have overactive
bladder? And why would it only happen in "flare ups"? He gave me this new
medication, a gel you put on the skin, called "gelnique" to treat the OAB.
I’m a nurse, but I don’t know it all, but I’m pretty sure that my symptoms add
up to more than OAB (really sounds like the interstitial cystitis to me).

Anywayyy, long story short, if anyone here knows more about the urinary stuff
than I do, I’d appreciate the help, or if anyone has been diagnosed with IC.
Let me know if you have any questions, I’ll take all the help I can get. I’ll
even take the response that I’m a crazy person and there’s nothing wrong with me
haha.

Thank y’all in advance for the help

it all started three weeks ago in the middle of the day while i was watching tyra out of nowhere. my vagina just starting feeling different and then when i went to pee it felt like some sort of orgasim. A day went by and it was the samething. the next day another symptom was added it started to burn after i pee. i went to the hospital and they diagnosed me with uti. they gave me an antibiotic called cipro after 3 days i had no relief . i calld doctor he prescribed amoxcillin and decided to do a sensitivity test got a phone call saying amoxcillin won’t work levaquin is what wll used levaquin for 6 days i was on my period so it felt kinda better but as soon as i was off i relized these annoying symptoms where still there went to the hospitol they found bacteria but more blood in urine. they said it is uti put me on intravenous antibiotics and admitted me, i spent 5 days at the hospitol still no relief. got a catscan, ultrasound and they where normal. i was released they said there is still bacteria in my urine but its not growing. i can’t see any blood anymore but they say there is microscopic blood cells in it. the other night culd barely walk it was so painful and sensitive down there. visited a gyn the next day she took urine and a swab. she gave me some cream. she said my urine shows there is still a infection. i am waiting for more results.i did some reseach and figure i have a fungal candida uti infection i have all the symptoms. thats y i have no relief i have been being treated for a bacterial uti with antibiotics and that wn’t kill fungi it will actually make it worse. but my doctor says no i don’t hve that. I asked him to treat me for it anyway and he said the medications to treat it are very strong and dangerous with strng side effects and can cause damage ( scary) so no he won’t treat me for it anyway. I read up on them and they are but i am sure thats what have at least i really think i have it . all the symptoms fit and they say it an be hard to diagnose and can get confused for a bacterial infection some bacteria can be present and most hospitol don’t test for it cause its so rare. i am immunosupressd i jus had a transplant and on all these meds that do that and i am on predisone which can cause fungi growth. my symptoms are fatigue, burning and stinging after urination (during urination i am fine but when i get to the end thats when it starts), an orgasim feeling (not a good one), sensitivity down there sometimes when walking, bladder pain sometimes, fatigue, diarrhea(that could be from the antibiotics i was taking i been off them for 4 days though) . right now i am taking a pyridum to ease all this but when it wears off its back to the same torture i was feeling before. What do u think is wrong with me and can i be cured and do u think its a fungal uti. or a resistant to everything bacteria. i hope it doesn’t effect my kidneys my creatnne was high when i first wnet in to the hospitol with fluid it went back down to normal. i as dehydrated most likely or the antibiotics helped something. the gyn said i have blood protein and nitrates in my urine im waiting for more test to be run and more info. i also need to see a urologist. tommorow i am goig back to the hospital just to check my creatinine. but does anybody have any answers for me please help i am exhausted and stressed over this tragic experience and torture my poor vagina is going through i been praying for it to end for god to gve me a answer. i kow its not an std becuz i m not sexually active.
