About a week, but don’t stop taking your medication untill the doctor tells you to and then watch your diet and what you drink.

there is a medication, over the counter called uristat, azotat, similar things that anesthetize your bladder lining, Your Dr. might even prescribe the Medication Pyridium. You get relief almost right away, but it does make your urine bright pumpkin -orange, and it does stain, so you may want to use a panty liner with that. Ask you Dr. If this is okay, if so, good luck.

My sister had a bladder infection and it took quite a long time to get over it, but this is a question for a doctor, not yahoo answers. Healing time can depend on heaps of things - other health issues, weight, immune system, lifestyle…the list goes on and on. I recommend you ask your doctor - they should be able to give you an answer.
And as for the medication, DO NOT go off it until your doctor tells you to. Medicine can make you better or worse, and your doctor knows how much you need to take until you’re better.

    Good luck!
