Is it normal for it to be itchy "up there" where the tampon has been after removing the tampon?

Yesterday I successfully used my first tampon. Throughout the day I changed it once, using two tampons in total, and switched to a pad at night. Now it feels extremely itchy and irritable up in my vagina, I assume near my cervix where the tampon has been. Is that normal? And if it is, how do I get rid of the itch? I’ve also just contracted urinary tract infection about two days ago, but the pain is gone now after taking antibiotics, if that plays a part in anything. Please help! It’s really uncomfortable. Thanks!
