Is it possible to have a miscarriage without bleeding or spotting?

About 5 weeks ago I got the depo birth control shot, they had me take an at home pregnancy test before they could give me the shot and it came back negative. About a week later I got sick. I’ve had stomach problems in the past consisting of sharp pains in different spots in my abdomen, so every time I went into the doctor they assumed it was my pains getting worse. So for the past month they had me on several medications and gave me different shots to kill the pain whenever I would go into the ER. They found that I had a bacterial yest infection and a bladder infection. Last week i went in again and they finally did a pregnancy test. Come to find out Im now somewhere around 6 weeks pregnant. For the past few days Ive had such bad pain, where my female organs are located, that i cant get myself out of bed. I talked to my mom about it and she thinks that the fetus is not well. . .. . Ive also noticed some thicker stringy tissue like substance in the toilet or when I wipe. Is it possible that Im having a miscarriage and Im just not gonna bleed because of the depo shot or the bleeding just hasnt started yet? or is there something more wrong?

Not going to lie it is possible to have a miscarriage without bleeding or spotting, it’s called a missed miscarriage when the body doesn’t acknowledge the miscarriage. However that doesn’t mean that is what you are experiencing, in a missed miscarriage their are usually no symptoms whatsoever. Cramping and pain down below can be completely normal in pregnancy, I know when I told my mother I was experiencing it she thought something was wrong as well, because she never had it herself. But all the doctors assured me that its perfectly normal. Increased and changed discharge is also a normal part of pregnancy. If you are really worried though I wouldn’t hesitate to go see your doctor and have everything checked out. Good Luck.

The depo shot would have nothing to do with why you wouldnt bleed if having a miscarriage. I would go to the doc if you have questions…only they can answer them one hundred percent.

You can ave a miscarriage without bleeding, the only way to know for sure is to have an ultra sound done to check on the baby
